About the role
The Technical Manager leads technical operations, including product development support, process optimization, and technical problem-solving across manufacturing and customer applications. This role serves as a key liaison between R&D, Production, Quality, and Sales, ensuring technical excellence in both internal processes and external customer support. The position drives innovation, improves product performance, and supports business growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical initiatives related to product performance, process optimization, and troubleshooting
- Support product development and scale-up activities in collaboration with R&D teams
- Provide technical expertise to Production, Quality, and Sales teams
- Absorb and resolve complex customer and application issues
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and product quality
- Oversee technical documentation, specifications, and standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical and business objectives
- Support training and development of technical staff
- Participate in customer visits, trials, and technical evaluations as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
- 7–10+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, technical service, or related roles
- Strong understanding of resins, gel coats, or composite materials preferred
- Experience in product development, process optimization, or technical support
- Proven ability to lead technical teams or initiatives
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
