This position reports to the Program Manager in support of the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) of facilities primarily located at the Kesselring Site and potentially the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, both in upstate New York.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare policies and procedures for radiological and RCRA D&D activities under DD&R Task Order 4 at Naval Reactors sites under the cognizance of the Department of Energy.
  • Establish administrative requirements to enable mobilization to the site(s) and planning of subsequent D&D activities.
  • Interface with other Program staff to develop D&D strategies, coordinating and reporting to DOE and site stakeholders.
  • Write reports and procedures, participate in project meetings, present to groups, and work in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the nuclear and/or D&D industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of D&D industry standards.
  • Experience in construction, demolition, remediation, asbestos abatement, lead abatement, lifting & rigging preferred.
  • Prior shipyard, DOE, or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in radiological and environmental decontamination and decommissioning a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen; no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Level L Security Clearance.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a medical clearance for entry into radiological areas.
  • Occasional overtime and travel may be required (infrequent).

Pay

A good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $114,000–$130,000 annually ($54.80–$62.50 hourly), depending on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
