About the role

The Technical Lead, .NET/Middleware is a senior technical specialist responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of high-volume, mission-critical API and middleware solutions supporting TireHub’s customer connectivity platform. This role coordinates internal and offshore development resources, drives technical strategy and execution, and ensures secure, high-performance, and reliable services. The primary technology stack includes .NET Core, API frameworks, and middleware integration patterns. This role reports to the Software Development Manager, Core Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Defines and implements architectural standards and best practices for .NET API and Middleware platforms.
  • Ensures platform security, performance, scalability, and operational stability.
  • Designs and implements business process automation using .NET microservices and integration services.
  • Oversees API lifecycle management, including maintenance and third-level (senior) technical support.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops a team of internal Developers and Senior Developers to achieve business objectives.
  • Manages day-to-day delivery and priorities for an offshore .NET API development team across multiple initiatives.
  • Partners with architecture, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ensures individual personal adherence to TireHub policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Participates and maintains ongoing training requirements through in-person, virtual or computer-based learning modules as assigned.
  • Completes other tasks assigned by their supervisor or another member of Leadership, as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / MIS or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on .NET technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing middleware, APIs, and distributed systems.

Skills

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Advanced hands-on experience with .NET Core, .NET Standard and modern .NET frameworks (4.6/4/7).
    • Strong proficiency in C#, including abstraction, generics, prototyping, LINQ, Entity Framework.
    • Strong experience with SQL Server and T-SQL including performance tuning and data modeling.
    • Experience with API design, versioning strategies, documentation, telemetry, and performance optimization.
    • Proficiency with Git-based version control and modern development workflows.
    • Experience with unit testing frameworks and automated testing practices.
    • Working knowledge of cloud platforms including:
      • Azure: App Services, Application Insights, Logic Apps
      • AWS: EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, Redis (or similar services)
  • Leadership & Delivery:
    • Proven ability to lead and coach a team of .NET API/middleware developers, including task assignments, design guidance, and code reviews.
    • Experience managing offshore or distributed development teams across multiple initiatives.
    • Ability to produce and maintain technical roadmaps and technical debt assessments.
    • Ability to review, influence, and implement Solutions and Enterprise Architecture artifacts.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate as both hands-on technical contributor and a people leader in a fast-paced environment.

Work Conditions

  • Fast-paced and dynamic operating environment.
  • Majority of time spent sitting, viewing monitors, with frequent opportunity to move around.
  • Occasional need to move or lift light articles.
  • Flexible hours to support critical system changes and emergency events.
  • Role is based in our headquarters office in Dunwoody, GA and requires a strong in-person presence.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10%.
