The Role: We are looking for a Technical Lead for a project assignment to provide hands-on technical leadership for a distributed engineering team across Los Angeles, Mexico, and India. This role will be based in the Los Angeles area and requires someone comfortable working regularly from the DLTA and Beverly Hills, depending on business needs. You will lead the technical direction and day-to-day execution of the engineering team while remaining actively involved in architecture, development, code reviews, and solving complex technical problems. The environment is primarily built around TypeScript, Node.js, and Microsoft Azure, with a growing emphasis on incorporating AI-assisted development and AI capabilities into both the engineering workflow and the products we build. We are looking for someone who understands how modern AI tools can improve software engineering and is comfortable helping a team adopt them thoughtfully. Experience with tools such as Claude is a plus. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership for engineering teams across Los Angeles, Mexico, and IndiaOwn technical direction, architecture decisions, engineering standards, and implementation strategyRemain hands-on with development using TypeScript and Node.jsDesign and build scalable applications and services within Microsoft AzureLead technical design discussions and translate business and product requirements into practical engineering solutionsReview code, provide technical guidance, and help engineers solve complex development challengesCoordinate development across distributed teams and ensure alignment on priorities, architecture, standards, and delivery expectationsPartner closely with product, delivery, client stakeholders, and other engineering leadersIdentify technical risks and dependencies early and drive them to resolutionImprove engineering practices around code quality, testing, deployment, observability, and maintainabilityPromote the effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software qualityHelp identify opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities into applications, workflows, and internal engineering processesMentor engineers and raise the overall technical capability of the team Required Skills: Strong experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer, or Senior Software Engineer with technical leadership responsibilitiesStrong hands-on development experience with TypeScript and Node.jsExperience designing and delivering production applications in Microsoft AzureStrong understanding of modern application architecture, APIs, cloud services, and distributed systemsExperience leading or coordinating engineers across multiple locations or time zonesAbility to balance hands-on engineering work with technical leadership and team coordinationStrong code review, debugging, architecture, and problem-solving skillsExperience working directly with product, delivery, and business stakeholdersStrong communication skills and the ability to provide clear technical direction to distributed teamsComfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities and technical requirements may evolve Nice to have: Experience using Claude or similar AI coding and development toolsExperience implementing AI or LLM-powered functionality within production applicationsFamiliarity with AI development patterns, APIs, agents, or developer toolingExperience leading teams distributed across the US, Mexico, and IndiaConsulting or client-facing engineering experience Location: This is an onsite role requiring 4 days per week between Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) and Beverly Hills, based on business needs.
