About the role
Under supervision of the Laboratory Director or designee, maintains laboratory equipment as necessary, assists in clerical duties of the department, assists technicians and technologists as needed, and is responsible for phlebotomy procedures and processing of other specimens. Additionally, laboratory assistants perform CLIA-waived testing while producing quality results.
Responsibilities
- Maintain laboratory equipment
- Assist in clerical duties of the department
- Support technicians and technologists as needed
- Perform phlebotomy procedures and process specimens
- Conduct CLIA-waived testing and produce quality results
- Adhere to regulatory requirements including all State, Federal, and accrediting body regulations
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS certification
- At least two (2) years of full-time experience in a hospital laboratory setting with phlebotomy experience
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist
- Graduate of a Certified Phlebotomy program
- Phlebotomy certification
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
