Technical Instructor I (IT Support)

About the role

Per Scholas is seeking an IT Support instructor to join our Training Team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, problem-solving, adaptable, and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Support instructor-led training preparing students for IT Support careers.
• Provide students with relevant resources for outside learning.
• Work with the team to identify and support student needs, establish individualized plans, and meet regularly.
• Maintain and update Salesforce and/or LMS with student grades, certification scores, and progress notes.
• Maintain and update training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and classroom materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical/industry experience).
• Strong technical background and ability to convey complex technical subjects.
• Experience in troubleshooting IT issues, operating systems, and cloud computing.
• Knowledge of IT security protocols and best practices.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint, Salesforce, Zoom, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of business needs and solid organizational skills.
• Experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various computer hardware.
• Experience in setting up and managing networks, mobile devices, and server environments.
• Ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple projects.
• Passion for technology and commitment to ongoing professional development.

Skills

• CompTIA A+ (1200 Series), Network+, or similar certifications.
• At least three years of experience in IT support.
