About the role

The Lewis & Clark County IT&S Department is hiring a Technical Implementation Manager to join their team. Reporting to the IT & S Director, this role ensures the efficient, secure, and successful deployment of technology projects and solutions across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that new systems, infrastructure, and technology projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to security and compliance requirements.
  • Provides resource coordination for projects.
  • Plans project stages and assesses business implications for each stage.
  • Acts as primary liaison between technical teams and business or vendor stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with project personnel to identify and resolve problems.
  • Oversees the technical configuration and integration of new systems.
  • Makes sure progress is monitored to ensure deadlines, standards, and costs are being met.
  • Prepares and provides status updates and progress reports, including information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.
  • Performs post-implementation reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Safeguards technical work performed by IT staff and outside vendors against meeting or exceeding enterprise standards.
  • Reviews solution architecture, security controls, and data migration strategies.
  • Identifies technical risks and provides mitigation strategies.
  • Develops or reviews test plans for systems and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Schedules and facilitates meetings related to projects.
  • Works with IT staff and vendors to identify and resolve go-live issues.
  • Oversees the transition of the system from the project support to operational support.
  • Develops or updates technical documents, procedures, policies, training materials, and end-user documents.
  • Supports the mission and direction established by the IT Board.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate degree or two-year technical certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related field and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in IT operations, technical project coordination, or systems implementation is required.
  • Project management certification is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Duties are generally performed in an office environment where hazards and discomforts are controlled and modifiable.
  • This position requires long periods of sitting, the ability to stand, bend at the waist, kneel, reach over the head, talk, hear, and see.
  • Must be able to move or lift materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Position requires knowledge and use of typical office equipment including telephone, and personal computer.
  • Position is required to manage and resolve a variety of customer issues through multiple communications channels.
  • Occasional work in small spaces, rooftops and mechanical rooms.
  • Position requires occasional travel to other sites.
