Job Duties
- Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications.
- Communicates clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
- Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
- Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts.
- Conducts quality review of materials.
- Editing and Writing of:
- Operating Procedures
- Acceptance Test procedures
- Calibration Procedures
- Installation Procedures
- Test Requirements Documents
- Support Review and Release processes for documents
- Using Windchill, Follow and Support Configuration Management for the program.
Basic Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or related field.
- 6+ years of technical writing experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech environments; prior work with test equipment documentation preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and PLM systems (Windchill experience required).
- Familiarity with ECSS, MILSTD, or other aerospace documentation standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear instructions.
- Understanding Change Control processes and configuration management.
