Technical Writer
About The Role
A Technical Writer is a mid-level role with increased responsibility for authoring, revising, and managing technical documentation. This position independently authors and manages technical documentation while contributing to workflow management, mentoring, and documentation governance. Mentors peer writers and supports workflow and technology management. Executes assigned work independently and leads portions of projects.
- Independently authors and manages documentation with moderate oversight.
- Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), training, and communications partners.
- Ensures quality processes and contributes to complex datasets and validation.
- Maintains documentation lifecycle controls and ensures metadata accuracy.
- Safeguards documentation to ensure required approvals and signoffs in accordance with established governance and control standards.
- Supports tooling processes, enhancements, and metadata management.
- Develops and maintains resources ensuring quality and branding standards.
- Mentors peer writers and supports team execution.
- Contributes to process improvements and workflow execution.
- Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training.
- Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
- Fulfills all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
- May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
- Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years technical writing experience.
- Demonstrated mentoring and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with knowledge management tools (e.g., MadCap Flare).
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage deliverables.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable about Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other relevant regulations.
- Ability to learn, demonstrate, and foster the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words.

Pay Range
The pay range for this role is $24.38 - $49.67. The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
