Technical Director - Emergency Preparedness
GHD is seeking a Technical Director - Emergency Preparedness to lead a team of professionals in environmental emergencies. Key responsibilities include mentoring, guiding, and managing projects, as well as business development activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of emergency response and preparedness professionals
- Collaborate with clients and agencies to ensure effective response and resolution
- Manage key client and customer relationships
- Contribute to strategic areas of a community of practice
- Manage data collection and analysis activities
- Develop and write materials for critical audiences
- Manage environmental impact assessments
- Manage environmental risk activities
- Formulate functional strategies
- Ensure adherence to HSE policies and procedures
- Evaluate and develop staff capabilities
- Manage and report on performance
- Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Manage and oversee major projects
- Respond to bid solicitations and prepare proposals
- Secure permissions and consents for development sites
- Analyze and integrate complex information sources
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in emergency response and preparedness
- 7+ years of project management experience
- Track record of revenue growth through business development activities
- Effective communication skills with technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials
- Strong mentorship and coaching skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience with emergency preparedness, air monitoring, environmental assessment/sampling, ICS, SCAT, and regulatory compliance
- Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time
- On-call availability 24/7/365
