Position Summary Unison Software is seeking a Technical Consultant to design, develop, and support integration, data migration, and reporting solutions across the Unison platform ecosystem for federal civilian, defense, and intelligence community customers. This is a hands-on technical consulting role. Technical Consultants work directly with clients, functional consultants, project managers, and technical stakeholders to analyze requirements, architect technical approaches, and build scalable solutions that enable reliable data exchange, accurate data conversion, and actionable reporting between enterprise systems. Success in the role requires a solid understanding of integration architecture, ETL processes, relational databases, and modern web services, along with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving client requirements. Technical focus area, solution complexity, and depth of independent ownership scale with experience level and are defined in the specific job posting. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy integration solutions supporting real-time, near real-time, and batch data exchange between Unison and client systems Design and execute data migration strategies, including extraction, transformation, validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and load activities Develop and maintain reports, queries, extracts, and dashboards that support client operational, financial, and compliance reporting needs Develop and maintain APIs, web services, data transformation processes, and integration workflows using approved platforms and technologies Partner with clients, functional consultants, and project managers to gather requirements, evaluate technical approaches, and recommend solutions Troubleshoot complex integration, data, and reporting issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable resolutions Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, mapping specifications, deployment procedures, and support documentation Participate in code reviews, unit and system testing, and quality assurance activities to ensure reliable, maintainable, and secure solutions Support implementation, upgrade, cutover, and post-production activities, including production support and defect resolution Serve as a trusted technical advisor in client-facing meetings, workshops, and design sessions, and identify opportunities to improve technical standards and delivery frameworks Required Experience Professional experience designing, developing, or supporting system integrations, data migration, or reporting solutions, with depth of experience commensurate with the level of the position Prior software development experience is highly preferred Experience supporting enterprise software, ERP, or large-scale system implementations Experience working in structured delivery environments (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) Experience supporting software implementations for federal government agencies or government contractors is preferred Technical Skills And Exposure Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases REST and SOAP APIs, web services, and common integration patterns ETL processes, data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation Integration and ETL platforms such as Talend or comparable tools Reporting and business intelligence tools such as Oracle BI, Power BI, Jasper, or Crystal Reports Java or other object-oriented programming languages Oracle databases, PL/SQL, SQL Loader, or comparable enterprise database technologies Cloud-based integration architectures and modern API management concepts Integration security concepts, including authentication, authorization, and data protection practices Federal Delivery and Data Environment Familiarity with one or more of the following is required or strongly preferred, depending on level: Federal acquisition, contract, grants, and financial data structures and the systems that produce them Interfaces with federal financial, procurement, personnel, and reporting systems Handling of sensitive federal data, including personally identifiable information (PII) and controlled unclassified information (CUI) Federal security and compliance requirements, including FISMA, authority to operate (ATO), and Section 508 accessibility Working with government technical points of contact, information system security officers, and system owners Core Skills And Abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including with ambiguous or poorly documented systems and data Clear, concise written and verbal communication, including with non-technical client stakeholders Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, client-facing environment Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving client requirements Education and Certifications Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience Relevant technical certifications in database, cloud, or integration platform technologies are a plus Remote Work On-site working requirements vary.
