We are seeking a Buyer specializing in PCBs and Board Components. This role involves sourcing and procuring various types of PCBs, interpreting technical documentation, evaluating suppliers, and managing procurement processes. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering experience with extensive procurement and supply chain expertise within the electronics or PCB manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
- Source and procure PCBs, including rigid, flex, rigid-flex, HDI, and specialty materials, ensuring they meet engineering specifications and performance requirements.
- Interpret technical documentation such as engineering files, fabrication drawings, IPC standards, and bills of materials to confirm supplier capability and compliance.
- Evaluate and qualify PCB suppliers through capability assessments, audits, and performance monitoring.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contracts to support cost-reduction and continuity-of-supply objectives.
- Manage RFQs and competitive bidding processes, ensuring clear technical communication between engineering, program management, customers, quality, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on design-for-manufacturability feedback, material selection, and early supplier involvement.
- Resolve supply issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, and impacts of engineering changes.
- Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP/MRP systems, including purchase orders, lead times, bill of materials, and supplier records.
- Monitor market trends in PCB materials, technologies, and global supply chain risks.
- Support new product introductions by coordinating prototype builds and ensuring suppliers can scale to production volumes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, procurement, or supply chain within electronics or PCB manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of PCB fabrication processes, materials, stack-ups, and IPC standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience with global PCB suppliers and offshore manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, electronics technology, or a related field.
Schedule
- 100% onsite position with working hours from 8 am to 5 pm.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.

Pay
$100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year.
This is a permanent, fully onsite position based in Frederick, MD.
