About the role
The Technical Buyer plays a pivotal role in supply chain management operations, focusing on the procurement of technical components in alignment with Advita’s strategic initiatives. The individual in this role ensures that procurement activities are conducted efficiently, delivering both value and quality to the organization. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers, the Technical Buyer drives optimization, profitability, and innovation within the procurement process.
Responsibilities
- Establish and improve standardized work processes to achieve the team's goals and objectives.
- Execute Advita’s Preferred Supplier agreement framework for new business awards and work proactively to expand and enhance the supply base.
- Develop cost roadmaps and ensure their linkage to margin management, primarily through supply chain optimization strategies.
- Take the lead in managing standardization and working toward the reduction of complexities within the supply chain processes.
- Regularly analyze and project opportunities and risks within the commodities market to assess current and future material costs and availability.
- Work closely with suppliers to align product & technology roadmaps, ensuring that procurement is in tandem with technological advancements.
- Assist and support other teams and employees as necessary, fostering a culture of teamwork and mutual growth.

- Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of technical components, commodities markets, and the intricacies of supply chain dynamics.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate with suppliers effectively, ensuring the best terms for the organization.
- Analytical Prowess: Capability to sift through data, decipher market movements, and make data-driven procurement decisions.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, allowing for clear interactions with teams and partners.
- Teamwork: Experience in working collaboratively within teams, encouraging a cooperative and productive environment.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues and creating solutions in a fast-paced setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certification is a plus. Experience can offset education.
- 2+ years of experience preferred in technical buying or procurement, with a proven track record in a mid to senior-level role. Additional education can offset experience.
