Technical Buyer

Responsibilities

• Procures flight certified hardware in accordance with Government procurement regulations.
• Evaluates, selects, negotiates, and manages technical liaison for a variety of procurement purchase instruments.
• Analyzes quotes, recommends or selects suppliers, prepares, tracks, and closes purchase orders, schedules deliveries.
• Provides status on outstanding hardware deliveries and stays updated on current approved vendors.
• Communicates with center customers/programs and outside vendors for updates and information.
• Works closely with technical personnel to ensure quality specifications are translated into purchasing requirements.
• Obtains materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need.
• Handles complex information and inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders in a customer service focused environment.
• Data entry into work management and accounting systems for initiation, update, and closeout actions.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office software such as Outlook and Excel functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 5 years relevant experience OR 7 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
• US Citizenship and REAL ID required.
• Must meet federal requirements for access to government information; dual citizenship may affect eligibility.
• Strong computer skills and able to navigate use of computer systems independently.

Qualifications

• Experience in/knowledge of Government purchasing practices and procedures.
• Desired Qualifications: Experience working within Deltek Costpoint and Maximo CMMS.
