CEIA USA provides nationwide sales, service and customer support to public (federal, state and local governments) and private sector customers in North America.
Summary
The Buyer/Technical Buyer role will provide strategic sourcing and procurement support with a concentration in electronic components and various direct and indirect components in both domestic and international markets. This is a new position that will be highly visible and be able to contribute to a rapidly growing company.
Essential Responsibilities
- Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders for electronic components, hardware, and direct and indirect materials from both domestic and international sources
- Maintain open purchase orders and expedite deliveries to ensure on-time material availability
- Analyze historical usages, current customer demands, and inventory trends to recommend purchases and/or safety stock levels
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, order status, shortages, and delivery schedules
- Support sourcing activities by identifying and evaluating suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance
- Aid in supplier negotiations for pricing, terms, and delivery commitments
- Review and resolve invoice discrepancies, supplier claims, and purchasing-related issues
- Maintain accurate purchasing data within ERP/MRP systems including pricing, lead times, and supplier information
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams regarding component substitutions, new product introductions, and supplier-related issues
- Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Track and report supplier performance metrics including on-time delivery and responsiveness
- Manage purchase requisition and purchase order process
- Provide interdepartmental communication and support on projects and initiatives
- Contribute to process and procedure Continuous Improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience: 3-7 years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- Skills: Strong negotiation and vendor management experience, Forecasting: Comfortable forecasting demand based on historical data and/or working with Sales to determine anticipated needs, Experience with ERP or purchasing systems, including MS Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.), Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, Familiar with the end-to-end procurement lifecycle (cradle to grave), Some experience working with and interpreting technical prints is preferred

- This job operates primarily in an office environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

- The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

- Travel may be required up to 5% of the time.
