Technical Business Development Specialist

This role supports our work at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities

• Implement stakeholder and partnership engagement strategies (DoD, NNSA, and others).
• Develop and execute critical initiatives for national security programs and technologies.
• Translate technical language into actionable insights ("So What") for technology applications.
• Discover and analyze market factors, national security requirements, and trends.
• Lead technology transfer initiatives to deploy national security systems.

The National Security Partnerships and Business Development Department provides embedded business development support to Sandia’s mission programs and portfolios, enabling the development of national security programs and partnerships. Responsibilities include programmatic and technology strategy, capture planning, federal/academic/industry engagement, and other marketing and business development efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience and education.
• Experience with business development concepts (e.g., strategy, marketing, communications, business management, engineering, international relations).
• U.S. citizenship (required due to federal contract security requirements).
• Ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain a DOE Q security clearance (required).
• Completion of health & safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with customer engagement related to federal government agencies.
• Experience in strategy development and implementation.
