Technical Business Development Representative - Boston
About the role
The Technical Sales BDM will drive territory sales through technical product discussions with customers, collaborate with customers to identify cross-sell opportunities, and develop strategies to integrate AV products into their proposals. This role also involves acting as an internal manufacturer’s representative to generate demand and drive adoption of AV products.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with regional ProAV sales teammates to drive business in your region, including supporting local stores by coordinating engagement and training with customers.
- Tactically support strategic brands with customers to ensure project success, while acting as the technology subject matter expert.
- Meet with ProAV integrators to discuss product solutions and advise on the right solution for specific projects.
- Conduct proactive outreach and targeted selling efforts to promote AV products among existing customers.
- Attend industry events to meet with customers to discuss product solutions and provide training for customers.
- Achieve sales targets, present/report out on metrics, and identify new opportunities to hit targets.
- Facilitate system designs with the internal design team and professional services teams.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding job duties and responsibilities.
- Accurately report metrics and track in sales management tools.
- Quickly respond to customer needs and capture every sales opportunity.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in the technology of the Audio Visual industry.
- Problem-solver with strong client/executive relationship management abilities.
- Willing to travel 50% of the time.
- Active and clean driver’s license.
Qualifications
You must have a deep knowledge of Pro AV product lines and a comfort level meeting with engineers, salespeople, owners, C-Suite personnel. Excellent technical presentation skills are required.

The typical hiring salary for this role ranges from USD $65,173.87 to $110,971.73 per year, varying by specific work location. For example, the hiring salary in Melville, NY is $78,208.64 to $133,166.07 per year, and in New York City, NY, it is $81,467.34 to $138,714.66 per year. Within a range, Resideo determines base pay based on various factors, including market conditions, skills, and experience.
