About the role
Skylo is hiring a Technical Business Analyst to help fulfill Skylo’s mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. This individual will be responsible for internal and external reporting, ad hoc analyses, complex automated reconciliation processes, and data strategy implementation for scalability.
Responsibilities
- Create, own, and optimize regular reporting for Skylo’s internal and external stakeholders
- Lead and design automation efforts for repeatable processes, such as reconciliations, to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads
- Design and implement data strategies that align with business goals, ensuring scalability and adaptability
- Build bespoke live data dashboards, integrating front-end and back-end components to deliver real-time insights for decision-making
- Establish and enforce data governance standards to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security
- Present actionable insights and supporting data to Skylo executives
- Draft executive analytical narratives from dashboard outputs using AI; validate and refine before presentation
- Build and maintain reusable prompt workflows that translate stakeholder questions into structured SQL or dashboard specs.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in data analytics or related field, 1 year of leadership experience
- Bachelor’s Degree: Analytics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or other related degree path
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects
- Active daily use of AI for code generation, data analysis, or documentation; can construct effective prompts for Skylo-specific data contexts
- Proven experience working with large-scale datasets in relational databases and cloud-based environments
- Extensive experience working in SQL, Python, Excel, at least one industry standard BI tool
- Ability to identify trends, anomalies, and insights in large and complex datasets
- Demonstrated use of AI to accelerate a recurring data workflow; can describe the before/after and what you built
- Exceptional ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders in clear, actionable terms
- Experience using AI to generate or maintain data governance documentation (data dictionaries, quality rules, lineage descriptions)
- Experience in predictive modeling and analytics is a plus
- Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field is a plus

Additional Information
The compensation range for this position is dependent on location. These ranges reflect the low and high end of the range Skylo reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role. Non-Bay Area (U.S.): $122,000 - $130,000 Bay Area, CA: $130,000 - $145,000
