About the role
The Technical Advisor provides professional support and guidance within the firm's Intellectual Property (IP) practice. Specializing in areas such as patents, trade secrets, copyrights, and technology-related disputes involving software, algorithms, and digital content, the Technical Advisor works closely with litigation and intellectual property partners and associates to address complex issues and challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provides professional advice with a particular focus on patent, trade secret, copyright, and other complex technology-related disputes involving software, algorithms, and digital content.
- Liaises with Litigation and Intellectual Property partners and associates to address complex issues and challenges, leveraging knowledge of a specialism to provide effective solutions.
- Conducts in-depth research and analysis on prevalent issues within an area of specialism, providing insights on client matters.
- Maintains client and case files, facilitating efficient data management and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Assists in scoping and project management to ensure timely and effective delivery of specialist advisory services.
- Promotes a culture of continuous learning within the team, leading by example in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of specialist advisories and regulatory changes.
- Provides professional support to the development of innovative solutions to complex problems and operational challenges.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently conduct detailed analysis, investigate issues, and identify solutions, seeking guidance only on atypical or complex issues.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with team members and occasionally external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and PhD or Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Qualifications
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently conduct detailed analysis, investigate issues, and identify solutions, seeking guidance only on atypical or complex issues.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with team members and occasionally external stakeholders.
Skills
- Ability to maintain client and case files efficiently and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Experience in conducting in-depth research and analysis on prevalent issues within an area of specialism.
- Proficiency in using technology to develop and implement IP strategies, conducting IP due diligence, and managing IP litigation and dispute resolution.
- Knowledge of international IP law and the ability to navigate its complexities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.

Pay
$96,000 - $155,000
Schedule
Exempt roles are also performance bonus eligible.
