Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior advisor to clients with technical expertise in financial instruments, derivatives, securitizations, digital assets and other complex accounting issues, including:
    • Consolidation (ASC 810)
    • Revenue Recognition (ASC 606)
    • Leases (ASC 842)
    • Business Combinations (ASC 805)
    • Current Expected Credit Loss (ASC 326)
    • Impairments (ASC 350/360)
    • Share-based payments (ASC 718)
  • Lead advisory engagements on accounting policy development, restatements, audit readiness, and financial statement preparation
  • Supervise, develop and train junior team members on engagements. Participate actively in the team’s project work (i.e. “roll up your sleeves” and work with the team)
  • Interact directly with partners on matters related to client and engagement management
  • Strengthen existing client relationships and developing new business opportunities by providing outstanding client service while also expanding our footprints across other functional areas at clients.
  • Communicate with business owners, executive management, investors, lenders and other sophisticated parties to ensure delivery of exceptional client service
  • Be accessible and anticipate client needs, questions, and issues
  • Invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events both internally and externally
  • Aid in recruiting activities to include campus recruiting along with referring experienced individuals to the firm and participating in the firm's Employee Referral Bonus Program
  • Contribute to firm’s efforts to attract, retain, and develop staff and seniors and act as mentor for other senior & staff
  • Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards
  • Lead by example to positively impact employee morale to help build and maintain our inclusive culture
  • Set and achieve challenging profitability, billing, and collection objectives consistent with circumstances of the engagement, proper utilization of staff, and attention to risk management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues in the office, other service lines, and engagement/project teams
  • Regularly look for opportunities, recommendations, and additional firm services that could benefit or add value to our clients

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience in a large accounting firm in audit, financial advisory service line in financial services industry
  • Five (5)+ years’ of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a specialized field such as accounting, business, finance or related field – Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA required, CFA or other relevant certifications a plus
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP and/or IFRS standards
  • Knowledge and ability to use appropriate tools, applications, and accounting and finance concepts to facilitate analysis. Experience with Power BI and/ or Tableau is a plus.

  • Ability to comfortably interact with senior level client personnel, including supporting the preparation of and participating in executive briefings

Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.

Pay

The pay rate range for this job position is $224,720 to $327,850.
