About the role

The Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Senior Manager will develop, review, analyze, monitor, and submit all SEC and Regulatory filings (i.e. Call Report, Y-9C) in accordance with required regulatory and GAAP principles and practices. This position will oversee all aspects of certain technical accounting topics as well as internal controls over financial reporting (“ICFR”). Candidate will also take the lead on identifying, analyzing impact, documenting conclusions and implementing changes for any new accounting standards deemed to likely impact to the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all Company external financial reports, and filings required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”).
  • Responsible for compilation, review and filing of the Proxy, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other regulatory reports (i.e. Call Report, Y-9C, Y-9LP) and monitoring the financial reporting calendar to ensure deadlines are being met timely.
  • Leads and reviews the accounting, reporting and documentation of key bank processes – ACL, stock compensation, investments, and equity investments.
  • Train and coach the Reporting and Technical Accounting team, ensuring the highest standard of performance, teamwork, development and service.
  • Be the US GAAP subject matter expertise and assist reporting team in ensuring technical issues are well analyzed and reflected in company’s technical memos and financials.
  • Support FDICIA and SOX compliance and internal control matters.
  • Directs compilation of the Company’s financial reports such as monthly close package, board reporting, investor communications, and other required GAAP based reporting.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies, discerning the accurate application of GAAP and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Manage the tracking and reporting on all stock compensation plans and related accounting treatment, including, but not limited to grants, exercises, forfeitures for option and restricted stock plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 7–10 years of public accounting and external reporting for a publicly traded company.
  • 1-3 years of financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of GAAP, XBRL data tagging, and direct experience drafting SEC filings required.
  • CPA upon hire required (CPA track considered with equivalent experience).
  • Experience researching and implementing accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills required.

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of GAAP, XBRL data tagging, and direct experience drafting SEC filings required.
  • CPA upon hire required (CPA track considered with equivalent experience).
  • Experience researching and implementing accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.

Pay

Competitive base salary: $108,000 - $173,000/YR, plus strong bonus potential.
