About the role
Celonis is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting to oversee financial reporting, technical accounting, and M&A. This role reports to the SVP, Group Controller and plays a critical role in the finance organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage US GAAP reporting and other external reporting requirements.
- Support IFRS and statutory reporting as needed.
- Proactively identify, research, communicate, and resolve complex accounting matters.
- Lead policy initiatives, including the implementation of new accounting standards, and ensure global accounting policies are maintained and up to date.
- Continuously monitor, document, and communicate new accounting standards to the organization and determine their impact on the company.
- Lead or support cross-functional strategic initiatives ensuring accounting impacts are proactively addressed.
- Lead Financial M&A due diligence, partner with Corporate Accounting to integrate these transactions, and communicate with Corporate Development and cross-functional team leads on accounting matters.
- Drive management of valuation exercises, including partnering with 3rd party valuation firms to ensure proper valuation and disclosures.
- Develop a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, finance transformation, automation, training, and success in the finance organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA; Public accounting experience with Big 4.
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting / private industry with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong leadership skills with a consistent record of leading meaningful initiatives across the organization.
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of IFRS would be a plus.
- Expert in technical accounting issues and accounting for complex transactions.
- Experience with M&A due diligence, valuations, and purchase accounting.

- A demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex operational and accounting challenges.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, current knowledge of U.S. GAAP including areas of M&A, equity investments, financial reporting, and other technical accounting matters.
- Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Effective project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end, manage long-term projects, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent project management, analytical skills, with attention to detail, organized and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement.
Pay
The base salary range for this role in New York, based on a Full Time Schedule, is $154,000—$180,000 USD. Total compensation package will include base salary + bonus/commission + equity + benefits (health, dental, life, 401k, and paid time off).
