About the role
The Technical Account Manager (TAM) role at Datadog is dedicated to educating potential clients and ensuring existing customers are happy and successful. TAMs provide hands-on technical services to our largest customers, supporting, adopting, and guiding them through the comprehensive suite of Datadog products and features.
Responsibilities
- Advise on technical support and product adoption for customers in line with pre-sales, post-sales, and renewal processes.
- Regularly analyze customers' IT Operations environments and provide recommendations to maximize Datadog’s value.
- Act as the customer’s advocate by understanding their goals and use cases, and suggesting process changes, product adoption, configuration, and additional features to meet their needs.
- Participate and prepare for Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews with customers.
- Collaborate with Datadog’s product management, engineering, and technical services teams to help identify new features and products.
- Continuously evolve best practices for technical product adoption and customer success.
Requirements
- Solid technical grounding and hands-on experience in IT Operations.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Go, PHP, or Chef/Puppet.
- Skilled in using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab.
- Knowledgeable about containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher.
- Ability to work up to 4 hours per day and travel up to 30% of the time.
- Previous experience working as a TAM supporting mid-market and/or enterprise customers in the cloud space.
- Experience using Datadog and/or other cloud monitoring tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record of success in similar roles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
