Position Summary

Technical leaders focus on the technical aspects of production, ensuring correct setup and changeovers, resolving issues, and maintaining quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate safety discrepancies or issues to Supervisor/Area Manager
  • Set up and operate production equipment according to GMP and SOPs
  • Troubleshoot equipment, devices, or products
  • Maintain production processes and equipment for quality and productivity
  • Inspect production for quality and adherence to customer specifications
  • Monitor and record data from SPC charts and precision measuring instruments
  • Place product in boxes for safe transportation
  • Maintain inventory of job materials and ensure operators have adequate supplies
  • Read and understand product drawings and specifications
  • Confirm correct entry of computer input for ticket information
  • Write work orders and update journals at the end of shifts
  • Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Plan and assist with product changeovers and setups for equipment
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, etc. for production setups
  • Start up and shut down processing equipment
  • Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to enhance efficiency and safety
  • Train operators as needed
  • Operate production equipment when necessary
  • Aid engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products
  • Input maintenance work orders through Maximo system
  • Review internal email and calendar system several times per shift
  • Participate in PM, MMOL, and 5S activities, and Kaizen activities as needed
  • Follow all EMS procedures, including waste disposal
  • Adhere to personal and team safety regulations
  • Communicate adherence to safety standards from members at all levels

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, and present information
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift and pallet jack licenses
  • Knowledge of database, inventory, manufacturing, spreadsheet, and word processing software
