About the role
Tech Author position located in Woodridge, IL (60517) for a 12‑month contract.
Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation such as user manuals, technical specifications, service methods, repair times, interactive schematics, and help guides.
- Collaborate with service engineering, engineering, manufacturing, compliance, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy.
- Organize, manage, and maintain a repository of technical documents, ensuring adherence to style guidelines and clear, concise language for technical and non‑technical users.
- Produce technical illustrations to support written content.
- Perform editorial duties including copy editing, proofreading, and fact‑checking.
Requirements
- Experience using Arbortext software.
Pay
$39‑$48 per hour.
