Tech Assistant III Phlebotomist, Central Lab Wayne, Full Time, Day

To perform phlebotomy on both Outreach and hospital patients. To accession and process specimens from inpatient and outreach clients; provide customer service through initiation and/or response to client inquiries via phone, fax, or printer regarding test status, results or specimen requirements. To register outreach and/or in-house patients, including insurance, diagnosis codes, and demographics.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on Outreach and hospital patients
• Accession and process specimens from inpatient and outreach clients
• Provide customer service by responding to client inquiries regarding test status, results, or specimen requirements
• Register outreach and in-house patients (insurance, diagnosis codes, demographics)
• Drive personal vehicle for outreach duties as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience required
• Customer service experience preferred
• ASCP certification preferred
• Current and valid New Jersey driver’s license
• Must adhere to all procedural guidelines in HR Policy 1-13, including maintaining an acceptable driving record

Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills
• Ability to set priorities, multitask, and be detail-oriented
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with patients, staff, and physician offices
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Good typing skills

Schedule

Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, Friday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Pay

Pay range: $21.90 – $27.37 per hour
