Tech Advisor Breeder I - 1st Shift (Part-Time) Jetersville, VA

About the Role

This position provides technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds, ensuring proper care and comfort. Responsibilities include advising on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, farm sanitation, and farm visits to document bird comfort, manage flocks, and adjust equipment settings.

Responsibilities

• Direct feed and light schedules
• Monitor bird health, egg production, body weight, and conformation, providing remedies when possible
• Monitor feed consumption
• Pull blood and fat samples as required
• Coordinate bird placements to farms and assist with catch schedules
• Ensure communication between hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live-haul regarding contract farms
• Maintain compliance with production contracts to produce high-quality, low-cost flocks
• Ensure adherence to USDA and other government regulations in poultry handling

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
• 1 year of experience in a breeder tech role preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Willingness to travel 1 to 5 times per year
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Schedule

25–30 hours per week, 1st shift.

Pay

Base pay range: $63,000.00 – $107,000.00. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, overtime, premiums, or bonuses. Annual incentive plan available.
