Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation
• Conduct farm visits to document bird comfort, manage the flock, and adjust equipment settings
• Direct feed and light schedules for optimal bird health and productivity
• Monitor bird health, egg production, body weight, and conformation; provide remedies when possible
• Pull blood and fat samples as required and on time
• Coordinate bird placements to farms, assist with catch schedules, and ensure communication between hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live-haul
• Ensure producer and company compliance with production contracts to produce high-quality, cost-effective flocks
• Adhere to all USDA and other government regulations when handling poultry
• Follow the Company Animal Welfare Policy at all times

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural field or equivalent experience relevant to the position preferred
• 1+ year in a poultry or agriculture-related field preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Must be willing to travel 1 to 5 times per year
• Must not own, possess, or maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl; required to sign a Biosecurity agreement
• Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
