Tech 1, Mechanical Engineering - Onsite (Urgent Need)

Job Description

Associates or BS in mechanical engineering, on site 5 days a week.

• Reporting to the Sr. Lab Manager, the associate plans, performs and analyzes bench-level engineering tests and/or research experiments designed to test the feasibility of concepts or technologies required for development of new products.
• Affords assistance, when relevant, in transfer of technologies into product development.
• Participates, when necessary, on product development core or project teams.

Responsibilities

• Independently plans and performs experiments that support new product or technology feasibility testing
• Critically analyzes data generated from experiments. Synthesizes resulting evaluations of product and technology feasibility, as well as ideas and concepts.
• Reports results of experiments to R&D management and peers. Advises of the product development implications arising from the results and when necessary prepares technical reports.
• Maintains scientific equipment as necessary to support scientific and technical objectives as well as regulatory and governance requirements.
• Maintains good laboratory practices (GLP) consistent with SM product development objectives and regulatory guidelines.
• Interfaces with engineering to support experimental designs and performs testing of product produced experimentally as required.
