About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure our products meet customer expectations and deliver a high level of quality. This position will be responsible for assessment, design, implementation, and execution of quality programs and processes that support the continuous improvement of the business and reduction of quality incidents and customer complaints. The candidate must be an effective leader with strong aptitude for data analysis and interpretation, be technically minded, be able to work with little direction, and have a good understanding of quality systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff to produce manufactured products and organizes and monitors workflow.
  • Assists Management in assessing individual and team performance and development.
  • Develop team maturity: coach and counsel teams through accountability matrix, motivate team to achieve goals, and ensure effective team communication.
  • Prepare shift manning schedules to ensure proper coverage and production is achieved.
  • Record attendance and document vacation and holiday taken. Ensure proper handling and entry of ADP timecards.
  • Document absenteeism and communicate unfavorable trends to the supervisor. Advise management of employee issues that may require their immediate attention to Safety, Quality, Production, and Personnel issues. May recommend disciplinary action outside of Accountability Matrix.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, following reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Identify training gaps of individual operators and utilize SPL’s (Single Point Lessons) to close these gaps.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Provide relevant information to the appropriate stakeholders related to personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, and answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Monitors and acts on managing run rates, uptime, and yield. Leverages Smart Factory, Power BI, or other relevant platforms and escalates any potential issues promptly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree / Technical schooling is preferred.
  • 4+ years of progression in manufacturing leadership positions of growing responsibility, with a preference for experience in Packaging solutions.
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Solid ERP system knowledge is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of statistical fundamentals.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes or technical background.
  • Lean Six Sigma training a plus. Green or Black belt certification preferred.
  • Past leadership experience a plus.
  • Specialized quality training or quality certifications a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups of people at various levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management.
  • Ability to multitask several projects simultaneously.
  • Flexible schedule to meet business needs.

Pay

$25.00 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential.

Schedule

6 PM to 6 AM; 2/2/3 rotating schedule.
