About The Role We are seeking a hands-on Performance Team Lead to build, scale, and govern performance engineering capabilities across our enterprise SaaS applications. This role will establish the strategic vision for performance testing while remaining deeply involved in workload modeling, performance validation, CI/CD integration, and team development. The ideal candidate is both a technical leader and practitioner who can influence engineering decisions, mentor team members, and ensure performance risks are proactively identified and addressed before release. What You'll Do Define and evolve the organization's performance engineering strategy.Establish standards, governance, and best practices for performance testing and reporting.Design and oversee load, stress, endurance, scalability, and performance testing initiatives.Create realistic workload models, usage patterns, and performance acceptance criteria.Evaluate, recommend, and implement performance testing tools and technologies.Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and release readiness processes.Analyze test results and collaborate with Engineering and Architecture teams to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.Translate performance findings into actionable recommendations and risk assessments.Leverage AI-assisted insights to improve performance engineering efficiency and scalability.Hire, mentor, and develop Performance Engineers as the team expands.Coordinate performance engineering efforts across U.S. and Mexico-based teams. Required Qualifications What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.7+ years of experience in Performance Testing or Performance Engineering.Proven experience leading performance initiatives for complex enterprise applications.Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as:Azure Load Testing JMeter LoadRunner k6 Similar enterprise testing platformsStrong experience designing workload models and executing load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.Experience integrating testing into CI/CD environments and collaborating with DevOps teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to determine root causes across applications, databases, and infrastructure.Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical teams.Familiarity with cloud-based and distributed systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience building or maturing performance engineering programs.Experience supporting SaaS applications at enterprise scale.Exposure to AI-assisted testing, analytics, or optimization tools.Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
