About the role

Under general supervision, performs a variety of baking duties and assists with the preparation of breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes, doughnuts, and other pastries.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, rolls, and other baked goods, including icing and frostings, according to established recipes.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control standards.
  • Review production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activities.
  • Spread or sprinkle various toppings on specialty baked items.
  • Shape dough for cookies, pies, and other pastries either by hand or by using dough rollers and cookie cutters.
  • Cut and weigh dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, mold dough into loaves or other shapes, and place in pans.
  • Inspect product for quality during and after baking and make adjustments to processes as required.
  • Detect and ensure disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies, and other unusual conditions.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focus.
  • Operate with a sense of teamwork.
  • Report to work for scheduled shifts on-time.
  • Understand and adhere to organizational and department policy and procedures.
  • Accept direction willingly and follow through with delegated tasks.
  • Perform tasks consistently at an acceptable rate as outlined by department manager.
  • Maintain a safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal, and state regulations.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Department Manager.

Requirements

  • Bakery and shift lead experience required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand or walk for the duration of the assigned shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs or ladder.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder height frequently.
  • Ability to talk and hear to communicate with customers.
  • Finger and hand dexterity with ability to grasp and hold items of different sizes.
  • Vision ability – close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to read register screen and product and shelf labels.

Schedule

4am - 12pm Thursday and Friday and 1 additional weekday.

Pay

$16.00 per hour.
