About the role

Part-time evening position with availability on weekdays and weekends required at 25500 Miles Road, Warrensville, Ohio 44128.

Essential Duties

• Customer Satisfaction: Provide prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner; greet customers on entry and thank them on exit; offer suggestions and recommendations; operate cash register accurately; handle payments including cash, checks, and other tender; operate fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions, etc.; report to work on time; adhere to dress and appearance code.
• Facility Condition: Maintain store facility and equipment to Company and/or brand standards by performing general housekeeping duties; clean inside and outside the store; perform basic upkeep and cleaning of all equipment; inspect facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper operation; notify Store Manager of any equipment failure or maintenance/supply needs.
• Merchandising: Complete build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise; receive and verify vendor deliveries; maintain adequate stock throughout the store and supplies in counter areas; rotate stock properly; place advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility including marquees, ceilings, walls, and windows.
• Sales Controls: Control merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses; assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
• Financial Controls: Keep accurate cash, sales, and inventory control records; account for variances; notify Store Manager of any sales, cash, or inventory discrepancies; follow Company and/or brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
• Security Controls: Report all incidents including employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation or waste disposal to the Store Manager; report any situation involving unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
• Administrative: Keep accurate records of all shift and timekeeping paperwork; may take inventory of supplies and equipment; attend job-related meetings (may require irregular hours); provide regular and predictable onsite attendance; perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment including cash registers or scanners, hot or cold beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools.
• Ability to work as scheduled and arrive to work on time.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly to others.
• Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) preferred.
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes; occasional work in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer and outdoors.
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., assisting in stocking/maintaining inventory levels).
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups).
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for the entire shift (requires eye-hand coordination).
• Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (e.g., utilizing a hand-truck).
• Reach overhead for objects.
• Bend and twist at waist; stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull.
• Communicate orally; operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
• Stand and/or walk for an entire shift; may require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs.
• Work alone; exposed to occasional noise.

Work Environment

• Approximately 95% of work performed indoors; required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while performing occasional work in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Pay

Hiring range: $14.00 to $14.50 per hour.
