About the role

The Team Leader, Quality Control Inspector leads and coordinates inspection activities within Applied Medical's Quality Control department in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. This role ensures product integrity, regulatory compliance, and adherence to quality standards across raw materials, components, and finished medical devices. The Team Leader, Quality Control Inspector mentors and supports a team of inspectors while driving continuous improvement in inspection processes, data collection, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate Quality Control (QC) inspection activities to uphold product integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee inspection procedures for raw materials, components, and finished products, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Provide guidance, training, and direction to team members on inspection techniques, equipment usage, and quality standards
  • Aid in the development, implementation, and updating of inspection procedures to improve workflow efficiency
  • Ensure inspection tools and equipment are available, properly maintained, and calibrated for accurate results
  • Mentor new team members, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development
  • Participate in trend analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to refine QC processes and enhance product quality

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of inspection techniques and procedures, including reading engineering drawings and utilizing measurement instruments
  • Expertise in tools and equipment used for medical device inspection and quality control
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and team guidance skills
  • An analytical, detail-oriented approach to inspection and documentation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with a customer-service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects efficiently
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
  • Assertive and proactive, with a willingness to ask questions and drive solutions

Preferred

  • Hands-on manufacturing experience, particularly within the medical device industry
