Team Leader, PM, Deli - Lakeland

About the role

This position involves performing various tasks in the manufacturing department, covering for absent associates, and assisting managers with scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Participate on the floor with associates
• Cover for unplanned absences and vacations
• Understand and maintain department reports and procedures
• Coordinate breaks and lunch schedules
• Oversee and maintain equipment, perform Preventive Maintenance (PM), and manage work orders
• Schedule associates and assist managers with production scheduling and planning
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Promote and enforce quality and food safety standards
• Train associates on job skills, write Skill Breakdown Sheets (SBSs), and conduct Job Instruction Training (JIT)
• Lead and drive improvements in plant operations
• Analyze and understand Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and data
• Act as Department Manager/Assistant in their absence

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Aged 18 or older
• Able to learn and perform all positions in the department
• Able to understand plant policies, practices, procedures, and requirements
• Able to plan, organize, and follow-through on assignments
• Able to obtain a forklift license and operate a forklift
• Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds
• Able to travel to specialized training
• Able to demonstrate maturity, discretion, tact, and judgment
• Able to use computers and software, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Able to demonstrate knowledge of GMPs
• Able to use industrial strength chemicals
• Able to demonstrate mechanical skills
• Able to climb ladders
• Able to demonstrate safe working habits
• Able to demonstrate leadership skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to communicate effectively
• Able to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
• Able to demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
• Able to assist other team members in other areas
• Able to work efficiently with little or no supervision
• Able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions

Qualifications

• Some college coursework in Business, Engineering, or Food Science
• Experience relevant to this position
