About the role
Gemini is seeking a Team Lead I to support daily building operations, provide leadership to team members, and drive productivity, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Daily Operations: Oversee daily production requirements, including safety, quality, delivery, and cost, in collaboration with other leads and supervisors.
- Supportive Staffing & Scheduling Coordination: Collaborate with team members to assist in coordinating staffing needs, managing schedules, and determining overtime requirements.
- Maintain Optimal Performance: Monitor performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
- Customer Centric Mindset: Champion a customer-first approach by aligning production goals with customer expectations, ensuring high-quality output and on-time delivery that consistently exceeds customer satisfaction benchmarks.
- Cultivate Leadership Presence: Demonstrate self-awareness and articulate personal strengths and areas for growth, aligning with leadership perspectives to inspire and guide the team.
- Develop Informal Leaders: Identify and nurture potential leaders within the team, creating a multiplier effect that enhances overall team performance.
- Lead with a Winning Mindset: Set high standards and drive the team towards excellence, consistently aiming for results beyond the average.
- Motivate and Engage: Utilize optimism and empathy to inspire the team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages open communication and collective problem-solving.
- Facilitate Team Meetings: Lead and facilitate effective team meetings, ensuring clear communication of goals, expectations, and feedback.
- Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer timely and actionable feedback to team members, holding them accountable while supporting their development.
- Represent the Team: Serve as a liaison between the production team and other departments, ensuring alignment and addressing concerns promptly.
- Champion Lean Practices: Lead and support lean initiatives, empowering team members to identify and implement improvements in processes and workflows.
- Promote Cross-Training: Encourage and facilitate cross-training opportunities, enhancing team versatility and resilience.
- Drive Problem-Solving: Utilize problem-solving tools and techniques to address operational challenges, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate to Understand P&L Impact: Work alongside team members to recognize how departmental decisions influence the company's profit and loss, providing insights that support informed choices aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Coachable and receptive to feedback, using it to drive positive change.
- Ability to influence and adapt to continuous improvement-driven changes.
- Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with problem-solving tools and techniques.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and leadership roles across the site.
- Understanding of how decisions impact the P&L and overall business objectives.
- Ability to think strategically and understand interdepartmental relationships.
Qualifications – Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in leading and facilitating team meetings, providing updates, and fostering collaboration.
- Experience leading projects intended to engage and empower team members.
- 3 or more years’ experience in production environment preferred.
- Technical understanding of processes in the scope of the lead position preferred.
