Team Lead

Primary Responsibilities

• Facilitates a positive and safe work environment for all team members in line with MITY policy
• Maintains and participates in the production of the given area
• Monitors and uses hour by hour board and Standard Work Instructions to ensure a dependable, repeatable assembly process
• Collaborates closely with other department personnel and leadership to ensure orders are run in the same sequence
• Trains and uses Standardized Work Instruction to ensure proper training of new personnel
• Ensures that products are built correctly according to the Bill of Materials (BOM) for each specific style and checks that the quality of the items meets company requirements and quality standards
• Supports the culture of MIT+Y in both large decisions and everyday interactions (M-Make it Safe, I-Improve Each Day, T-Trust is Key, Y-You Matter)
• Develops direct reports in training and holds them accountable for all company policies
• Follows packaging and labeling standards for each item produced
• Has a working knowledge of NAV for inventory accuracy, department transfers, and reporting
• Ensures that work areas, machines, and equipment are operated safely and kept clean and orderly
• Provides technical feedback to engineers and Value Stream Leaders (VSL) on process and tooling problems
• Reports output, scrap, and issues to VSL through a daily report

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is preferred
• Previous manufacturing experience is required
• Knowledge of Standard Works, Takt/Cycle Time, and Standard In Process Stock is necessary
• Previous lead or supervisory experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment
