About the role
This position is responsible for supporting retail operations under the direction of the assigned ReStore Manager. Key responsibilities include assisting with all store operations, managing a staff of 6-12 employees, and leading volunteer efforts.
Responsibilities
- Customer service: Answering questions, providing supervision, assisting with merchandise, clarifying policies, resolving disputes, answering phone, greeting customers.
- Volunteer Resource/Captain: Assisting with onboarding, training, and retention of volunteers, facilitating volunteer orientations, utilizing scheduling systems, and managing volunteer groups.
- Manager on Duty: Developing knowledge of merchandise and store procedures, serving as primary contact for volunteers and customers, filling in for Manager and Assistant Manager roles.
- Sales Floor Management: Preparing space for incoming items, facilitating display of merchandise, meeting sales goals, and coordinating donations.
- Team Leadership: Hiring, training, and retaining quality employees, coaching performance, motivating team, and providing a fun work environment.
- Back Room Management: Ensuring items are priced and organized, assisting with donations, and coordinating merchandise movement.
- Office Assistance: Making promotional materials, answering phone calls, scheduling donations, and providing information for newsletters and publications.
- Safety: Contributing to safety meetings, ensuring compliance with policies, identifying and addressing safety hazards.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license.
- 3 years of experience in the customer service industry.
- 1-2 years supervisory experience.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Enthusiastic and teamwork focused with strong customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking.
- Effective leadership and team building skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Possess tact, diplomacy, and flexibility.
- Project management skills with an ability to multi-task.
- Proficiency with office computer applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases).
- Familiarity with Volunteer Scheduling programs, such as Galaxy Digital or similar applications.
Compensation & Benefits
