Team Lead - Assembly

About the role

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking a Team Lead to join our dynamic team in South Chesterfield, VA. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for leading and directing a team to ensure efficient and effective production.

Responsibilities

• Leading and directing manufacturing teams
• Ensuring SQDC (Safety-Quality-Delivery-Cost) and Lean responsiveness
• Conducting daily board (huddle group) team meetings
• Interpreting and ensuring compliance of company policies and safety regulations
• Recommending and implementing measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
• Analyzing and resolving work problems using PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) process
• Preparing and executing daily start-up plans
• Maintaining cross-functional training matrix
• Participating in Kaizen processes to assure on-time delivery to customers or other departments
• Cooking material scheduling and kitting to assure no shortages to the lines
• Maintaining 6S throughout the shift and operator PM checklists
• Implementing and sustaining standard work procedures and practices
• Maintaining efficiency levels to 90% or better

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Over 3 years related experience
• Basic computer experience with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and basic AS400 software or similar system knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
• AS400 experience preferred

Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements

• Able to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50% of the shift
• Able to stand/walk/bend/twist for prolonged periods up to 10 hours/day as needed per production area
• Able to make repetitive motions on the machine up to 40% of the shift
