Team Driver – Driver Trainer Status: Hourly Shift: TBD Position Summary Plug Power is recruiting dependable team drivers with an eye on safety and customer service to haul compressed gas and liquid hydrogen to industrial gas and cryogenic customers. The ideal candidate must possess a valid Class A CDL with 3 years of verifiable CMV experience. Hazmat and tanker endorsements will be required as a condition of employment. Candidates must meet all Department of Transportation requirements. The model candidate would exhibit a proven track record of success, teamwork spirit and positive attitude. Must be willing to drive with a partnered team driver. In addition to standard team driving duties, this role also serves as a Driver Trainer and subject matter expert. During training assignments, the Driver Trainer splits from their regular team partner to operate directly with a trainee in a solo driver configuration, providing hands-on instruction and evaluation throughout the assigned route. Core Duties And Responsibilities Drive with a paired team driver to transport and offload compressed gas and liquid hydrogen safely OTROperate vehicle safely at all times with the highest regard to the care and well-being of any passengersComplete required documentation including bill of lading, customer delivery ticket, offload checklists, vehicle inspection reports, etc.Complete paid training on safe offloading including EHS, PPE, and FR proceduresEnsure delivery vehicle(s) are maintained in safe working conditions and in compliance with all DOT standardsStrictly adhere to all traffic laws and rules of the road applicable to commercial vehiclesPrepare merchandise for shipmentRepresent Plug Power professionally at all times and with all interactionsSplit from standard team partner as needed to conduct new hire and periodic/recurrent driver training, operating directly with the trainee in a solo driver configurationDirectly witness each trainee's deliveries and complete the required compliance/witness sign-off form for every observed offloadProvide real-time coaching and instruction to trainees on safe offloading proceduresPerform other duties as assigned Education And Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferredA minimum of 3 years CMV experience requiredValid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsementsAbility to safely and effectively operate a manual transmissionPrior experience in a driver training capacity, or a minimum of 3 years of cryogenic/hydrogen delivery experience, requiredWillingness and ability to travel as required to complete training assignments Additional Requirements And Qualifications Have no preventable accidents in past 5 years and a clean Motor Vehicle RecordExtensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulationsAbility to periodically lift and move 50-75 lbs.
