Schedule

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 2:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

About the Role

Responsible for training and/or re-training delivery drivers on all aspects of the delivery driver job duties. Utilizes company training guides, manuals, checklists, and processes to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, safety, and DOT regulations. Performs preferred work method observations and provides verbal and written feedback on driver trainees' performance, including suggested development actions.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Utilize all systems and tools effectively, such as computers and software systems.
• Maintain exceptionally strong knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations (e.g., hours of service, pre-trip/post-trip) and company safety policies and practices.
• Ensure all policies are followed.
• Deliver hands-on training that maximizes knowledge transfer while meeting customer needs, service times, labor, and transportation cost guidelines.
• Provide ongoing and timely feedback to assigned driver trainees and supervisory staff, including positive reinforcement and constructive corrective actions.
• Exhibit strong customer service skills.
• Work with new driver hires and experienced drivers in classroom and/or field settings to prepare them for a successful professional driver career.
• Supplement PFG Driver Training Manual with local programs specific to the location, products, and reports used in that market.
• Perform all route delivery duties per company guidelines and safety regulations, including pre/post-trip inspections, load and freight checks, adherence to delivery windows, accuracy of customer delivery, equipment use, cash/check collection (if required), returns, driver check-in process, and necessary housekeeping for tractor and trailer cleanliness.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of experience, including at least 1 year of route driving experience with PFG and at least 2 years of overall route driving experience.
• Route delivery driver experience specifically in the foodservice distribution industry with in-depth knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Knowledge of computerized fleet operations management systems (e.g., PeopleNet).
• Valid CDL A and DOT Health Card.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• No attendance write-ups in the last 6 months.
• No disciplinary action in the last 12 months.
• No more than 3 points per PFG preventable accident policy in the last rolling 12 months.
• MVR policy point assessment of less than 20 points (Good or Professional Level).
