Driver Trainer

This is a Hiring Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program-designated title. The HELP Program is a temporary, non-competitive program to address current staffing needs; at its close, the position will revert to competitive class status. Employees hired through the program will be granted competitive class status without needing to take a competitive exam.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate new and existing school bus drivers
• Teach behind-the-wheel and classroom training sessions
• Ensure adherence to school bus safety procedures and regulations

Requirements

• Class B commercial driver’s license with school bus, passenger, and air-brake endorsements
• Certified Examiner and School Bus Driving Instructor credentials
• Prior school bus driving experience
• Strong knowledge of school bus safety regulations
• Excellent communication, patience, and leadership skills

Pay

$69,574 (12-month CSEA Non-Instructional title)
