Responsibilities
The FSU College of Nursing is seeking to hire a collaborative Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Core Course Coordinator responsible for coordination of one or more courses within the DNP core curriculum, based in Tallahassee, Florida (FL).
- Provide leadership and oversight for assigned DNP core course(s), including maintenance of the master syllabi and course structure.
- Ensure alignment of course objectives, assignments, and evaluations with DNP Program Outcomes and AACN Essentials (2021) competencies.
- Collaborate with program leadership to support sequencing and scaffolding of scholarly deliverables across the DNP curriculum.
- Support development of competencies related to evidence-based practice, systems leadership, quality improvement, and practice change initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to faculty of record and adjunct instructors teaching the course.
- Maintain course outcomes, student performance trends, and evaluation data to support continuous curriculum improvement.
- Contribute to program evaluation, accreditation documentation, and curriculum planning activities as needed.
This role focuses on high-quality didactic instruction in the graduate nursing program and supports the college’s mission to prepare practice-ready, compassionate nurse leaders. Faculty are expected to be actively engaged in teaching, student mentorship, and academic service in a collaborative, on-campus environment.
Qualifications
- An academic doctorate (PhD, DNP) or highest-level terminal degree in nursing from an accredited institution is required, with eligibility for graduate faculty status. Non-nurse trained candidates will not be considered.
- Active FL Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license; or licensed in another state with eligibility to obtain FL licensure within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant teaching experience in graduate nursing education.
- Knowledge of DNP education standards and AACN Essentials (2021)
- Experience with curriculum development, course coordination, or program evaluation
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff at all levels within a collaborative environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent software.
- Experience supervising and training employees.
- Experience meeting project deadlines.
Other Information
- This is a full-time, in-person position, and the level is commensurate with experience. Successful candidates must relocate to Tallahassee, Florida.
