About the role
The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison invites applications for a Teaching Professor position at the Assistant or Associate level. Candidates with substantial teaching, professional, and/or leadership experience may be considered for appointment at the Associate Teaching Professor level.
Responsibilities
- Advises students on academic and career direction within a specific field of study
- Collaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline
- Develops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction
- Contributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentations
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including assessment of student performance
- Contributes to the strategic development of curriculum and academic content through various mediums to ensure the integrity of the educational mission of the work unit
- May supervise student employees involved in development or delivery of instruction
Requirements
- PhD in Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Outstanding educator with a strong passion for teaching, a demonstrated commitment to student success, and the ability to deliver high-quality instruction across the fundamental required courses in industrial engineering
- Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in high-demand and forward-looking areas such as, but not limited to, applications of artificial intelligence in industrial engineering, engineering management, supply chain and logistics, and related emerging areas, as well as candidates with experience designing and delivering experiential, project-based, or practice-oriented learning courses

- Years of experience and professional accomplishments will be commensurate with the title
- Teaching candidates must possess teaching experience
