About the role
The Department of History at Ball State University offers undergraduate students' courses to fulfill their course of study for their major, minor, or core curriculum. The position of oral historian will teach classes to gather information from informants through immersive learning projects. The results of these projects will be collected and stored in the university library and shared through community partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create a course syllabus and Canvas page.
- Create in-person instruction.
- Perform assessment including midterms and finals.
- Record and maintain documents.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. or ABD in history or related field by date of appointment.
- Experience with oral history in modern world history.
- Commitment to immersive learning instructional practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching HIST 152 Modern world history.
