Teaching Assistant Bright Beginnings Early Learning Center- 2 yr old room

Open position in a two-year-old classroom. Applicant must be available to work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., for 29.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the lead teacher in conducting daily duties
• Preparing and serving meals and snacks
• Changing diapers
• Assisting with daily reports and recording attendance
• Engaging in play with children
• Assisting to put children to sleep
• Creating and maintaining a safe environment
• Providing support for the lead teacher
• Assisting the lead teacher in planning, scheduling, and implementing the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences for a classroom group of children
• Monitoring and supervising the children
• Cultivating relationships with children, parents, and guardians
• Adhering to diaper changing procedures
• Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops, and other career development and professional activities
• Completing continuing education hours per State requirements each year
• Maintaining a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere for staff and children

Requirements

• High School diploma required
• CDA or Associate’s in Early Childhood preferred
• Clear BCSC criminal background check
• Willingness to undergo TB testing, drug screening, digital fingerprinting, and submit a health physical upon employment
• Agreement to attend CPR/First Aid training

Physical and Mental Demands

• Position may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Requires standing possibly 90% of hours worked
• Moving between sitting and standing frequently while playing with the children

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $17.07–$18.47 based on experience. An additional $1 per hour will be paid from referendum funds.

Schedule

• Less than 12-month employment
• 5.9 hours per day
