About the role
Responsible for the development, implementation and carry through of age appropriate curriculum utilizing Project Construct Indicators, Developmentally Appropriate Practice and Accreditation Standards.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the ability to understand each child's individual needs as well as the group.
- Assists each child in becoming an integral member of the group.
- Provides opportunities for children to construct their own knowledge through exploration and play experiences.
- Provides a smooth coordination of staff/child interaction and activities appropriately.
- Adaptations are provided when necessary to meet the individual learning style of each child.
- Relates to children in a positive and respectful manner.
- Responsible for the supervision and management of assigned classroom while providing a safe and nurturing environment.
- Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be registered with the State of practice Family Care Safety Registry within 15 days of hire.
Qualifications
- 1 year child care experience preferred.
- Experience working with children in an early childhood setting preferred.
