About the role

Responsible for the development, implementation, and follow-through of age-appropriate curriculum using Project Construct Indicators, Developmentally Appropriate Practice, and Accreditation Standards. You will demonstrate an understanding of each child's individual needs as well as the group, assisting each child in becoming an integral member of the group. The role provides opportunities for children to construct their own knowledge through exploration and play experiences while ensuring smooth coordination of staff/child interaction and activities. Adaptations are provided when necessary to meet the individual learning style of each child. You will relate to children in a positive and respectful manner and supervise and manage the assigned classroom while providing a safe and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate staff/child interactions and activities appropriately
  • Adapt learning experiences to meet individual learning styles
  • Relate to children in a positive and respectful manner
  • Supervise and manage the assigned classroom, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be registered with the State of practice Family Care Safety Registry within 15 days of hire

Qualifications

  • 1 year of child care experience preferred
  • Experience working with children in an early childhood setting preferred
