TEACHER, ELEMENTARY - MUSIC, KINDERGARTEN-5TH GRADE , 1 YEAR

Temporary position for the 2026-2027 school year at an “Innovation School.”

About the Role

Teaches grade-level standards-based curriculum in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Personal Development to diverse elementary students, following the District Literacy Program and Everyday Math or other school/District-approved curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
• Monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rules of conduct and behavior of assigned students; reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy.
• Observes, evaluates, reports, and records student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
• Prepares lesson plans and materials according to District-approved curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
• Presents subject matter to students using various teaching methods and instructional materials to meet varying needs and learning styles.
• Instructs students individually and in groups using lectures, technology, and discussions.
• Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress; reports grades using District software.
• Prepares student, attendance, and activity reports as required by administrators.
• Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve student behavior and academic problems.
• May participate in extra-duty activities such as coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, as outlined in the Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with Department of Labor regulations.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s Degree only required for Concurrent Enrollment positions).
• Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license (DPS accepts a CDE Application Receipt for 90 days).
• Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community.
• Believe in and support all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high-quality education.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
• Have the ability, with or without accommodations, to meet the physical demands of the position.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
