Teacher Education - Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor
About the Role
The Teacher Education Department at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) invites highly motivated and qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate will teach early childhood and early childhood special education (Birth - Grade 2) courses, including introductory child development, curriculum methods, and fieldwork supervision. Faculty members are expected to engage in active collaboration, focus on teaching and pedagogy, and contribute to department and college service.
Responsibilities
- Teach early childhood and early childhood special education courses
- Supervise fieldwork and student teaching experiences
- Engage in curriculum development and assessment
- Advise students and participate in faculty development activities
- Conduct research and scholarship in the field
Qualifications
- For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor: Ph.D. in area(s) of expertise or equivalent
- For Instructor: Master's degree in area(s) of expertise and active progress toward a Doctorate
- Ability to teach successfully and cooperate with others
- Preferred: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience teaching children from infancy to eight years
- Preferred: Experience in special education, early intervention, and inclusive settings
- Preferred: Demonstrated use of asset-based pedagogies (Culturally Sustaining, Anti-Racist, Universal Design, and Trauma-Informed pedagogies)
- Preferred: Experience using instructional technology and mentoring pre-service teachers

Pay
- Instructors: $54,454 - $76,762
- Assistant Professor: $76,041 - $94,017
- Associate Professor: $98,231 - $109,519
- Full Professor: $122,202 - $141,325
